School Items & Sports Ware Donated to St. Henry’s College & Students

Civil Affairs Office of the 515 Brigade, in its assistance to promote school education of children in the area, organized a donation of school items for 61 parentless students of J / St. Henry’s College, Ilavalai on Saturday (07).

Those students have lost their parents due to war or some other reasons and are continuing their education amidst financial difficulties. The 515 Brigade with guidance of its Commander Brigadier Buvaneka Randeniya arranged the donation of school items worth over Rs. 185000/= sponsored by the members of Finance Division of Commercial Bank Head Office and their friends, Colombo. A stock of sports ware was also donated to the school on the same occasion.

General Officer Commanding 51 Division Brig. Piyal Wickramarathne chaired the ceremony.

The principal of St. Henry’s College Rev. Fr. J.J. Jesuthasan, Commander 515 Brigade Brig. Buvaneka Randeniya, Ms. Kanthi Rajapaksa and T. Kamaleswaran of the Commercial Bank Finance Division, Additional Provincial Director of Education Mr. S. Uthaya Kumar, Assistant Director of Education (Sinhala) Ms Sudarshi Kapukotuwa and Zonal Director of Education Mr. A. Rajendran were also present on the occasion.

The event was coordinated by Mr. P.A.T.N. Priyankara of the Commercial Bank Head Office.
