SF-J Troops Busy Mending Durayappah Stadium after Army Tattoo 2012

[2012-03-27 18:40:28]

Troops of the Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) commenced mending of the Durayappah Stadium soon after the Army Tattoo 2012 concluded on Sunday (25).

On instructions of Commander SF-J Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, 51 Division has sent extra troops with water bowsers and other necessary equipment to renovate the fence around the ground and to water the grass. A few extra gates had to be created for administrative purposes of Tattoo troops and the convenience of the large crowd present. All those are being put back in proper order by the soldiers of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Regiment.

Cleaning the ground and the surrounding has already been done. The pavilion has completely been painted by the 512 Brigade troops giving it a better look. As a gesture of goodwill and in appreciation of cooperation given by the Jaffna Municipal Council to make the programme a total success, Headquarters SF-J has decided to construct a VIP washroom at the Stadium soon, which remained a long-lasting requirement.

The Army Tattoo which attracted massive crowds daily was held from 23rd to 25th March at the Durayappah Stadium.
