515 Brigade Opens a Computer Lab for Thelippali Students

Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J), in addition to numerous programmes launched for the improvement of school education in Jaffna recently opened a computer centre to promote IT knowledge of students at Vittakapuram, Kolankallady and Mavaikallady.

This new computer lab was established by the Army at J/223 Vittakapuram Grama Niladhari’s office as a measure to develop infrastructure of villages where new resettlement took place after re-establishment of peace in the country.

Mr. Roy Adhikaram of the Commercial Bank responding to a request of the Army took a great interest to arrange a donation of five new computers to this new lab through the Bank.

The project initiated on a concept of Commander SF-J Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe was completed with supervision of Commander 515 Brigade Brigadier Buvaneka Randeniya.

The ceremony organized on 04th August to declare open the new computer lab was attended by Brigadier General Staff of Headquarters SF-J Brigadier Sumith Atapattu, Jaffna Regional Manager Commercial Bank Mr. S.P. Rajeewan, Thelippalai Divisional Secretary Mr. S. Muralitharan, Managers of all Jaffna Commercial Bank branches Army officers, students and villagers.
