552 Brigade Organizes Medical Camp for Civilians

Around 900 civilians of all age groups living in 552 Brigade area of Iyakkachchi had opportunity to go through free medical checkups and receive medicine for their illnesses after attending a medical camp organized by the Civil Affairs Office 552 Brigade.

The medical camp conducted by specialist doctors, medical laboratory technicians and ECG technicians from Colombo was held on Saturday, December 8th at Iyakkachchi Government Tamil Mixed School. The medical staff consisted of 30 professionals. Civilians from remote villages had their ECG, blood and other tests done by doctors and medical technicians from Mediquic (Pvt) Ltd of Colombo 06, Mediquic Diagnostics of Colombo 13 and Hospital and Home Care Services (Pvt) Ltd. of Colombo 03. Dr. Lakshman L. Weerasena, Chairman Hospital and Home Care Services (Pvt) Ltd. headed the team. Chint Power Solutions of Colombo 03 sponsored the medical camp.

Army provided transport to people from distant villages.

The 552 Brigade Civil Affairs Office organized it with guidance of General Officer Commanding 55 Division Brigadier Ajith Wijesinghe and Commander 552 Brigade Colonel Deepal Wanniarachchi.

Civil Affairs Officer of the 552 Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Ranjith Jayasekara coordinated the event.
