Security Force Jaffna Commenced Work in the New Year - 2017

With the dawn of 2017, Commander and All Ranks of Security Force Jaffna SF (J) commenced work at the office in the New Year following military traditions on 2nd January 2017.

As customary, Major General Mahesh Senanayake Commander SF (J) hoisted the National Flag. Afterwards, two minute silence was observed to remember the fallen war heroes. The oath of the Affirmation of Public Service was delivered by Brigadier Ruwan Gunathilake, Brigadier AQ Headquarters SF (J) and the New Year message of the Commander of the Army was read out by Staff Officer II Major Nilantha Padmal Headquarters SF (J). Commander SF (J) conveyed his New Year greetings to all Officers, Other Ranks, members of civilian staff and the families, and wish them courage and strength to continue their work with new hopes and success in the New Year.

Maj. Gen. Mahesh Senanayake who later joined with All Ranks tea Party at the multi complex, visited the Palaly Army Base hospital to see the condition of soldiers who were undergoing treatment. Together with General Officer Commanders in respective Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Senior Staff Officers HQ SF (J), Commanding Officer and the medical staff of the hospital, Commander SF (J) visited the wards to see all inmates and offered gifts.
