SL Army Started Training Programme for School Cadets in Sri Somaskanda Collage, Puttur

On the direction of Major General Mahesh Senanayaka, the Commander Security Force (Jaffna) SF (J), troops of 521 Brigade initiated the school cadets training programme in coordination with the 20th Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC) on 08th Feb 2017 at Sri Somaskanda Collage, Puttur.

Objectives of the training progrmme were to develop the discipline, sense of the interrelation and cooperation between school cadets. Meantime, it further enables to mature with the qualities of leadership and to provide the knowledge while enhancing skills which are necessary to lay the foundations for their school career.

Necessary equipments and instructors will be provided by the 16th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. This training programme further promotes Reconciliation process and mutual coordination between civilians and Sri Lanka Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Ushan Gunawardana, Civil Affairs Officer 52 Division, Major Chandra Hettihewa Civil Affairs Officer 521 Brigade, Lieutenant Narendra, Adjutant 20th Battalion NCC, Lieutenant Raguram, 20th Battalion NCC, Mr. Ilango, Principal Puttur Sri Somaskanda Collage, soldiers and students participated in the event..
