Hundreds of Buddhists in Navatkuly, Jaffna and
South participated in the 'Sacred Relic' Pooja and alms giving
of Navatkuly Sri Samiddhi Sumana Vihara was held on 11th Feb 2017.
The event was held for the first time in the history since the
establishment of Navatkuly Sri Samiddhi Sumana Vihara in 2012.
The 'Sacred Relic' casket resting on a vehicle,
the Perahera was demonstrated on Saturday (11) evening from Dankotuwa
Sandalaka Pirivena to Navatkuly Sri Samiddhi Sumana Vihara with
the participation of civilians and military personals.
The Dhamma sermon and other related religious
activities were held by the Chief Incumbent, Ven. Hanvalle Rathanasiha
thera. The Pinkama was arranged by the Sinhalese who live in Navatkuly
village and devotees came from Kurunegala.
On the directives of Brigadier Tikiri Disanayaka,
Commander 523 Brigade and Major Pradeep Bandara, Civil Affairs
Officer 523 Brigade, troops of 523 brigade has made significant
contributions to the event..............
