Most Sought Service Provider Vests another 33 New Houses for Displaced Jaffna People

The newly constructed 33 Houses with a value of Rs. 33 million was ceremonially handed over to the displace families of Welfare Centers in Jaffna Peninsula by Major General Mahesh Senanayaka, Commander Security Force (Jaffna) - SF (J) and Mr. Nagalingham Vethanayahan, District Secretary, Jaffna on 10th March 2017at "Nallinakkapuram" Community Hall.

Under the Phase - II, a total number of 33 most deserving displaced families, still languishing in 30 relief, welfare centers across the peninsula was selected to issue of ownership certificates and keys on the guidelines given by the District Secretariat, Jaffna.

The mega Keeramalai Housing Project, executed by the Headquarters Security Force (Jaffna) - HQ SF (J) under the able guidance of Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander SF (J) with the blessings of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, was launched as Joint Project Management Team (Phase II) and situated in "Nallinakkapuram" village which was recently handover to the displace families in relief welfare centres.

This state-of-the-art civil-military joint effort, emulate growing interactive cordial relations and feelings of reconciliation which offers each beneficiary a new house in twenty perch block, comprised of two bedrooms, a living room, dining area, kitchen, toilet and the bathroom.

Addressing the recipients who were recently resettled, Commander Security Force Jaffna stated that the Sri Lanka Army will continue this process and constructing another 225 houses in "Mavankalladdi" area with the assistance of Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force.

Brigadier Marvyn Perera, General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Brigadier Sisira Pilapitiya, Commander 513 Brigade, Colonel Sanath Aluvihare, Commander 515 Brigade, Colonel Chandana Wickramasinghe, Commander 511 Brigade, Mr. K. Sri Mohanan, Divisional Secretary, Thellipalai, Senior Military Officers, Police Officers also participated at the event.
