The First Sri Lankan to Climb the Summit of Mount Everest meets Jaffna Commander

Dr. Ram Manikkalingam, a Board Member of National Unity and Reconciliation of President Office, accompanied with Miss. Jayanthi Kuru-Uthumpala, the Ambassador for Women Rights on behalf of Ministry of Women’s Affairs during their visit to Jaffna Peninsula, had a cordial meeting with Major General Mahesh Senanayaka, Commander Security Force (Jaffna) – SF (J) recently.

Commander SF (J) extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and explained the prevailing situation in Jaffna Peninsula. During the meeting, Commander SF (J) described the military involvement in nation building projects. Commander SF (J) further explained the Reconciliation mechanism presently evolving and how it is inspiring the livelihood of people in Jaffna.

Dr. Ram Manikkalingam and Mrs. Jayanthi Kuru-Uthumpala also joined hands with Security Force Jaffna to enhance Re-interrogation, Reconciliation, and National unity in Jaffna peninsula. During the visit they appreciated the efforts taken by Sri Lanka Army to enhance livelihood of the people in Jaffna.
