Maliyadewa Boys' College on an Educational Tour to Jaffna Peninsula

The students of Kurunegala Maliyadewa Boys' College paid an educational visit to the Jaffna Peninsula on 26 and 27 May 2017. The educational tour was arranged by the Commander Security Force Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, as a response to the request made by the principal of the college.

575 student of grade 10/11 and 21 teachers participated in the tour. And they visited very important historic places and popular areas in the peninsular such as Nagadeepa, Dambakola Patuna and the ancient Jaffna Fort. Their accommodation, meals and other facilities had been arranged by Army personnel serving in Jaffna.

The student and teachers got the opportunity of witnessing the strategic method used by the Sri Lanka army at the time of Humanitarian Operation. Moreover, they participated in awareness sessions with had been arranged by Army officers of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Artillery and Engineers. Further, on 26 May 2017, the students had the opportunity of enjoying a musical evening organized by the Army personnel.
