Awareness Programme on "Archaeological Heritage in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka"

An awareness programme was conducted for Military Officers in the Security Forces Jaffna Area of Responsibility on 13 December 2017 at the Auditorium of Headquarters Security Forces (Jaffna) by Mr. KD Palitha Weerasinghe, Director Archaeological Department Jaffna and Kilinochchi districts.

The lecture was conducted focusing on positive reinforcement to protect National Archaeological sites in Sri Lanka. Similarly, it enlightened the Officers on the subject of 'Under Water Archaeology' as well. At the end of the programme Brigadier Rasika Karunathilaka presented a memento to Mr. KD Palitha Weerasinghe as a token of appreciation for his commitment rendered to enlighten Military Officers in Security Forces Jaffna. Further, 114 Officers were present in this awareness programme.
