Donation of School Items to Deserving Students

The Army donated 50 Stationery Sets and 50 School Bags to deserving students of two schools in the Jaffna Peninsula on 27 January 2019. The programme was carried out on the instructions of Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi with a view to uplift the education of the deserving students in the peninsula.

Students from low-income families of the Sanmuga Pre-School and J/Poompukar GTM School in Ariyalai East received these donations at a formal ceremony held at Community Center of Poompukar.

The donations were sponsored by Mr. Sanath Weerasinghe and Mrs Muditha Weerasinghe, and the Colonel Admin and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, Colonel Ruwan Herathge joined with them to distribute the donations.

Religious Dignitaries and Senior Military Personnel were present during the occasion in addition to the Teachers, Students and Parents of the Schools and Residents of the Areas.
