Awareness Programme on Preventing Plastic and Polythene

Initiating the first effort towards to make Sri Lanka Army a plastic free organization, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna organized an awareness programme and a lecture on Preventing Plastic and Polythene upon the directions by the Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi. The programme was conducted by Dr. Thilini Gunasekara and four other lecturers from University of Sri Jayawardenepura and University of Moratuwa at the premises of Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna on 22 March 2019.

A number of 350 Officers and Other Ranks were enlightened on the advantages of recycling plastic and polythene, and replacing them with natural products to make a plastic and polythene free environment in Army camps. The Senior Officers at Security Force Headquarters Jaffna and considerable number of Other Ranks were present at the awareness programme..
