More Donations for Low-income families in Jaffna Peninsula

Another donation programme to facilitate deserving children and members of low-income families was organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna on 27 March 2019. Upon the invitation by Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Mr. Mohan Shankar and Mrs. Vadhani Shankar contributed for the donations.

At the first stage of the donation programme, three fully-equipped houses which were constructed by the troops belong to 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 7 Gajaba Regiment and 15 Gajaba Regiment under the supervision of 51 and 52 Divisions, were handed over to three low-income families during a ceremony organized at Kodikamam and Chullipuram. 10 Toilets facilities which were constructed by the troops of 1 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, were handed over to 10 deserving families during a occasion organized at the Community Centre in Kalavani on the same day.

Moreover, the final stage of the programme was organized at the Security Force Headquarters to award 25 scholarships of Rs.2500.00 per month for a period of 1 year, to deserving students and disabled students from low-income families in Jaffna Peninsula.

The programme was graced by the Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Mr and Mrs Shankar, Senior Officers, Army Personnel, Residents and School Children were present at the occasions.
