The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Visits Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna

H.E. M. Ashraf Haidari the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan visited Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna, and met the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya on Tuesday, 10 March 2020.

The delegation led by the Ambassador discussed subject areas of mutual interest. The Ambassador appreciated the Sri Lankan government’s efforts at post conflict reconciliation and nation building with particular focus on empowering the Northern Population. The Security Forces Commander briefed the Ambassador on current security situation, land release, demining, civil military coordination and other matters of concern pertaining to the Security Forces – Jaffna.

It was also highlighted during the discussion that the two countries have things to learn from the past experience. The Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces - Jaffna Brigadier Prasanna Ranawake also participated in the discussion.
